Game Fire development team is pleased to announce the availability of the second beta of the FREE open source Windows games optimizer "Game Fire". Game Fire beta 2 codename "Raccoon" brings new and enhanced features that will offer full games acceleration capabilities.

Raccoon will provide a more customizable gaming experience by enabling users to add custom Windows services, processes and to ignore certain software from being showed in Running Processes section, and many of Game Fire settings are exposed to enable advanced users to control the way Game Fire works.

Moments ago, Game Fire development team has confirmed that Game Fire v1.0 build 28 will be released as Game Fire beta 2 after being tested by Quality Assurance team. Game Fire beta 2 codename Raccoon will provide full games and Windows applications accelerating capabilities by getting rid of unneeded Windows functions, services and processes and by defraging files you are using frequently.

Raccoon will provide a more customizable gaming experience by enabling users to add custom Windows services, processes and to ignore certain software from being showed in Running Processes section, and many of Game Fire settings are exposed to enable advanced users to control the way Game Fire works.

Game Fire developers worked hard to invent a technique that enable Raccoon to optimize running applications and games in the real time, which many of Games Accelerating software are unable to do, and they came up with Live Gaming Mode, a promising way for boosting your computing experience by automatically optimize PC performance when needed by defraging system memory, improving system response rate and increasing applications start-up speed.

For example, if you are currently surfing the Internet using your Web browser, Game Fire will automatically give your Web browser more processing priority to enable you surf the Internet fast and enjoy videos on YouTube more smoothly, when you leave your Web browser to another application Game Fire will automatically restore the normal processing priority of your Web browser. Live Gaming Mode is still in development stage, so it will be disabled by default in Game Fire beta 2.

After the good impression about Game Fire beta 1 from many websites, blogs and users, We are ready to release Game Fire beta 2. Game Fire beta 2 will bring full games acceleration capabilities to your computer, through new and enhanced features.

First, let us take a look at the most interesting feature in Game Fire beta 2 which is Live Gaming Mode. This new feature will boost your PC performance in real time even after closing Game Fire main application, it works behind the scenes defraging system memory and increasing running applications response by automatically allocating and de-allocating processing priority to your games and programs.

Vista Services Optimizer high DPI problems

Vista Services Optimizer`s interface does not support high DPI settings, the interface appears out side the screen on high DPI desktops. There is a solution which disable high DPI on Vista Services Optimizer, allowing Vista Services Optimizer to run with normal DPI on high DPI environments.

First we make sure that Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager service is enabled and started, by opening Run dialog box and typing "services.msc".

The Windows services manager opens up, scroll to Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager service and check it's status, if the service is not started right click and choose Start.

Then we make sure that Desktop Composition feature is enabled, by going to Control Panel > System and from the tasks at the left side choose Advanced system settings.

In the Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance section, Performance Options dialog shows up. In the Visual Effects tab, check Enable desktop composition check box and click OK.

Now, we will disable Desktop Composition on Vista Services Optimizer, by right click on Vista Services Optimizer shortcut or on the "ServicesOptimizer.exe" file and choose Properties.

Go to Compatibility tab and check Disable desktop composition, when finished click OK.

Vista Services Optimizer 1.3 drops in 2010

Vista Services Optimizer 1.2 introduced many of new and improved features like Services Snapshots, Gaming Mode and enhanced Services Profiles. It showed high stability and reliability with good support to the new Microsoft OS (Windows 7).

We are planning for Vista Services Optimizer 1.3 which is expected to drop early in 2010, introducing more enhancements to all aspects of Vista Services Optimizer for more flexibility and usability. Many of this improvements are based on users' feedback.

GUI Improvements:

Vista Services Optimizer 1.3 will have an improved UI enabling beginners to do more things with less steps and in the same time gives experienced people more power and flexibility.

The Quick Control pane will enable you to use/access the common Vista Services features from anywhere on your computer without the need to run Vista Services Optimizer like turning Gaming Mode ON/OFF, performing an Automatic TuneUp or switching between your favorite Services Profiles.

Dozens of Improvements:

Services Snapshots created by Vista Services Optimizer 1.3 will support restoring default settings of third party Windows services.

Gaming Mode will offer an extra speed to your system while playing modern PC games through other optimization methods rather than optimizing Windows services only, this will result in a smoother gaming experience.

Services Diagnostics will be able to fix a wide range of Windows services incompatibility problems. Vista Services Optimizer will be able to run Services Diagnostics test automatically in the background and notifies the user when an incompatibility problem is found.

VSO 1.3 will be able to optimize more Windows services for better performance and security. It will be able to create more customized user profile with less questions.

Vista Services Optimizer 1.3 can check for and download new updates silently in the background if you enable Automatic Updates option.

Gaming Mode temporary disables unneeded Windows services without affecting the normal function of the system, this will save more CPU power and more amount of the system memory (RAM), enabling you to enjoy your modern PC games without any performance problems, all this with a one touch in the real time without the need to restart your computer. You can also turn off Gaming Mode at anytime with a single click, restoring your system default settings.

We ran a DirectX 3D benchmark test on a computer with Intel Celeron D 3.06 GHz, 1 GB RAM and built-in Intel Graphics Media Accelerator running Microsoft Windows Vista SP2.

The test shows an obvious improvment in the 3D rendering performance while trurning on the Gaming Mode.
